TCL Global Partner Conference: Establishing and Improving the Global Network

As the Chinese consumer electronics company with most invention patents, TCL has significantly increased its product competitiveness during the past year. The phase two of China Star Optoelectronics Technology's facility, TCL's LCD panel manufacturing arm, has officially begun operations, while the phase three of plant is on schedule to produce LTPS next year. TCL expects the addition of the two facilities of China Star Optoelectronics Technology will greatly enhance TCL's competitiveness at the high end of the smart TV and smartphone markets. Also as the only Chinese producer capable to manufacture both panels and TV sets, TCL plans to expand the ability to mobile phones, in a move to leverage the synergies between its TV, communications and home appliances businesses. The upgrading and expansion of TCL's overseas cooperation model is being put on the agenda. In line with global economic trends, TCL, together with its partners, plans to foster commercial, product and technology capabilities in the countries and regions where it is seen as appropriate. Mr. Li said that TCL's overseas cooperation model can be expanded beyond product sales and technical support to the building of factories locally in collaboration with its partners, when not ruling out the possibility to establish joint ventures. At the same time, TCL will leverage China's "One Belt, One Road" economic strategy, which encourages Chinese companies to go global, to accelerate the business development with its local partners. In addition, TCL plans to expand the availability of its internet applications and services into countries and regions where appropriate.
