Collaboration Between LJ Partnership and Elena Baturina Boosts Funding for Cancer Charity in London
- A collaboration between LJ Partnership, the London-based private wealth partnership and real estate investor, and the structures of international businesswoman and philanthropist Elena Baturina has resulted in significant funding to London based charity Maggie's, allowing it to open a new Maggie's Barts centre at St Bartholomew's Hospital this year and enabling its Maggie's Centre at the Royal Marsden Hospital to undergo construction and development work. Maggie's Centres provide practical, emotional and social support to cancer patients, their family and friends. Elena Baturina serves as Vice President of Maggie's and is passionate about its cause. Both she and LJ Partnership hold a similar vision for the way large businesses should support important charitable and socially beneficial projects. Elena Baturina, said: "It is my firm belief that money is not the goal, but means to make a positive change. I am convinced that business must provide support to vital causes. I hope that our support will allow Maggie's Centres to help more and more people affected by cancer, whilst also attracting more attention to the problem."
