Al Burda International Festival From the UAE Features the Aesthetics of Islamic Art
- - Noura Al Kaabi: Al Burda International Festival is a voyage of discovery of the world of Islamic art The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced that Al Burda International Festival is to relaunch with a new identity and vision. The event, which will be held on 14th November, is set to become an international showcase of Islamic civilization, highlighting its expressions in terms of culture, music, art, Islamic architecture and the innovative Islamic economy. Al Burda International Festival has defined three focal areas: raising cultural awareness, cultural knowledge and establishing a global presence. Her Excellency Noura Bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development , stressed on the importance of Al Burda International Festival in attracting leading calligraphers, designers, artists and contemporary poets from all over the world to increase awareness of the Islamic art and its aesthetics. She commented: "Al Burda International Festival will bring together the most inspirational minds to help create the future of Islamic art by formulating ideas and visions. It will also extend the boundaries of innovation in a way that blends the past and the present to restore the vitality and spirit of Islamic art, acting as an agent of its revival and highlighting the greatness, humanity and creativity of Islamic civilization through generations. The Festival will include panel discussions and a variety of exhibitions and meetings aimed at enhancing communication between artists and encouraging research and development in the field of Islamic art." Al Burda International Festival is a voyage of discovery into the world of Islamic art by presenting unique, modern works of art that attribute to the ancient Islamic civilization and offer an opportunity to present the masterpieces of artists, calligraphers, artisans and decorators to the public in exhibition spaces and workshops.
